It's been almost a month

Good golly Miss Molly where has the time gone.
I cant believe it has been a month already since I last posted. Well let me think back to the last month and update everybody.

Kam- has finally gotten through Kinder!! Her last day was on June 20 and to say that I am happy the year is over is an understatement. She is doing fab in her reading, she is constantly reading to me or Kenz and Kenz is her greatest admirer. She hasnt lost any more teeth since the bottom 2 thank god becuase she is going to think the tooth fairy (i.e. dad) will give her $5 for every tooth. That will make mom go broke (:  So we begin the summer sick :(  but she is better now. We thought she had Hand Foot Mouth Virus as our friends kids came down with it and she had the begining symptoms. I am not sure what she had after all but crisis averted. Let me just tell you Thursday night I was a mad woman with the bleach cleaning the house and every surface that she may have come in contact with. My house was bleachy/lysoly fresh. Looking forward to a fun summer with this one (there is a hint of sarcasm as I am still trying to figure out how to keep her occupied and my house clean as she is usually known as Hurricane Kamryn around these parts)

Kenz- She will be mobile in about T-minus 2 seconds. While it is so thrilling to watch her learn and grow the thought of having 2 kids mobile scares me. She can scoot herself from left to right and can roll in circles (imagine like a dog) Both of my girls care about my beauty sleep and still continue to sleep through the night. Although it does crack me up to know I laid Kenz down in one spot of her crib and in the morning find her in a completely different spot. We recently had to little accidents with her rolling (shall i say flipping) off the couch and off of my bed. Stunt Double in training I guess. She is also pretty much sitting up on her own! sometimes she gets lazy and falls over but for the most part she sits there and tries to grab whatever she has her eyes set on. Singing- she loves to do it in her T-Rex/Raptor voice. Kenzie-saurus-Rex is her new name.

All in all both are doing extremely well. They both light up my everyday and make me want to pull my hair out at the same time.

Now that I think about it Kam said something really funny last night.. We were at a Bon Fire for our friends Neice's birthday party. And her and I were walking to the car from the bathroom and she said "Mommy where are the bombs?" So I look at her a little funny and ask "What bombs" she proceeds with "Well we are at a Bomb Fire. Shouldn't there be bombs?" I just about fell over laughing. (never at her of course) But her thought process and the way she thinks about things never ceases to amaze me. I am going to have to get better about this blogging thing becuase there is at least 1 thing a week that she does that just amazes me.

Another good one before I go-
About a month ago I was trying to explain the Concept of Karma to her. Do good things and good things will happen to you...do bad things and bad things will happen- along those lines. So I wasnt quite sure how much of it she comprehended of it. Well about 2 weeks ago she was telling me about a friend at school who was being really mean to the other kids. After she compeleted her story she tells me "Well I guess she is going to have bad karma for not being nice" I am pretty sure I stopped and stared at her.

Teeth Teeth and More Teeth

It seems as though my life has revolved around teeth for the last month or so.

Kenz finally got her 2 teeth in- and I say finally because it took almost a month of teething and drooling and for all the moms out there you know exaxtly what I am talking about. But as of May 20 she has 2 bottom teeth that are still pretty drooling and sore. She got me pretty good the other day and bit the shit out of my knuckle...needless to say my fingers are no longer her chew toys...maybe time to invest in the overly expensive Sofie the Giraffe. Today was her 4 month check up (at 5 months as I had to reschedule last month and this was the soonest that they could get me in) and she is growing by leaps and bounds. She is 17.1 lbs and 27 in long. She is in the 100% for height and 98% for weight. Dr was super excited about her attention and her muscle strength and her happiness all around. So we are good to go. She is eating a ton and loving the baby food (squash and bananas are her absolute fave)

Kam has loose teeth and a moler coming in so I have 2 kids with teething problems (Karey I understand now what you go thru when all of your 4 are teething) She is doing great in school. Last week was open house and they had out work from the first day of school and to see where she was then and what she can do now just amazes me. Her mind just goes in all different directions. Yesterday on the car ride home I had to explain the principle of Karma to her. And I honostly believe she understood what I was telling her. As I type this she is reading it word for word ( yes its 9 and she should be in bed but she is being restless.

Things are slowly trying to take off for our Kissthegirls shop on etsy. Hoping and wishing it would take off a little quicker (right ash!!) But its going.. keeps me a little sane and balanced to do art type things.

Me and dustin have really been making an effort to work on us- for those that have been married a while or have been together a long time know what its like to get lost in life itself. So lots of family time has been spent together. Went on a picnic with the girls last weekend in the white truck. We  went up Chapman to Silverado Canyon. It was great we had so much fun. Packed a lunch and sat by a creek to just relax. Really nice you guys should check it one time :)

Things are pretty great in the Hastings Household right now.

its been too long

We have been soooo busy the last 2 weeks that I have not been able to post.

1. Kam lost her 2nd tooth finally!! I had to basically remove it for her. Karey and Lolo tried to bribe it out of her and she was having none of it. I just wiggled it a little (since it was just sitting in her gums not even hanging on anymore) and it came right out. She has a couple of more teeth that are starting to wiggle. So soon she should have more falling out.

2. Went to Vegas last weekend for Supercross finals. Had a total blast hanging with the Earlenson gang and our gang of course. Ate at Toby Keith's Bar and Grille (cant wait to go to the one in Rancho Cucamunga) and then enjoyed the Races. Both girls did ok till night and kenz was pissed because she could not lay down to go to bed. But we go through it ok. Made the girls matching TuTus and I Heart RV (ryan villapoto) shirts. We were hoping to meet him but as a "celebrity" their days are super packed. So all is well that ends well.

3. Mother's day was great!! Kam actually wrote me a message all by herself in my card. And bought bubble gum so that she could eat it. I laughed at her. We went to breakfast and then to the Pan Am festival at Mayfair park. That was fun. We beat the crowd and kam was able to ride all of the rides multiple times. Then just came home and relaxed. It was a really nice Mother's day!! (I hope all my fellow moms had a great one as well)

I don't have the slightest clue as to my goals for this week..haha.. I don't even remember what they were 2 weeks ago and if I completed them. But I do know that I need to tackle my pile of laundry that needs to be folded  : D the never ending cycle of laundry!!

xoxo

The Lost Tooth

KAM LOST HER FIRST TOOTH!!
I am so excited for her!! She has had 2 loose teeth on the bottom for a couple of weeks now and has been a sissy lala about taking them out. We have tried to get her to pull them but no go. So finally one popped out this morning. The other one is baaareely hanging on now. So it should be any day now that that one comes out too. She is quite the funny one though...
So we tried to bribe her this morning. She has been wanting this pair of Twinkle Toe shoes..bedazzled and light up sketchers (pretty cute I might add). I have been procrastinating getting them and finally we told her that she could get them on tuesday. Well we told her this morning that if both teeth fell out today that the tooth fairy would bring her a pair of shoes (yes we went that far). Well she must have had all day to stew over it as we were at my dads visiting for a little bit and this is what she told my sister as Haleigh was trying to convince her to let her pull it out
"Paypee I don't need to pull it out. Daddy said that I could buy my shoes tomorrow so Ill just wait for him to get all of his money and we can buy them then.

I will have to cont. this as blogspot is having some issues... to be continued

2 Post kind of Night

Here is Last weeks goals:
1. Go thru old baby clothes for donation, keep and sell
2. Remove all the cobwebs from the house (there seems to be a huge influx of said cobwebs in the last week and they gross me out)3. Wash and organize the "keep" clothes in their monthly piles for easy access in the future. - They are washed I just havent gotten around to putting them away..I have had an aversion to laundry this week
4. Create "Chore" chart for kam - I found a great one on Pinterest that I think that she would love. I think its about time that she get chores and maybe an allowance?? Hmm that's one to think on- Ugh not yet..we did discuss it and she is already working on her chores..she has an Ipad in her sights that she is trying to make money for..I am going to get to this this week! 5. I started this one last week- create 2 NEW dishes each week. I have really dived back in to cooking now that I am at home. I am bored (so I am sure Dustin is too) of the same dinners every week. So I have started taking inspiration and ideas to create new dishes. Although I strike this one out it will be a recurring goal each week to be more creative in cooking!!6. Create 1 new item for Kissthegirls  I actually have 2 new items to put up tomorrow night!!

This weeks goals:
1. Deep clean my bathroom.
2. Make Kam's Chore Chart from last week
3. Get on top of all of the laundry

This is a short week for goals as we are going to Vegas this weekend and I still have a bunch to do to get ready!! Cant wait for this weekend though. Supercross finals- we should be able to meet Ryan Villapoto (kams fave rider and Haleigh's future husband) I am making the girls Black and Lime Green TuTus (Monster Energy's colors and Kawaisaki {spelling on that one??} and Tshirts that say I heart RV. So I am hoping that we get to meet him and he can sign their shirts!! Really looking forward to this weekend. We go with my fam every year and stay with family friends! It really is a great time.

I want to start off by thanking Ang and Steph for inspiring me to start this blog. I have been thinking about it for quite awhile now and just haven't taken the time to start it. So thank you!

We have family all over the States- it would be really great for them to stay up to date with our everyday life around here. The big and little things that are going on with the girls and with us..Me and Dustin matter too..who am I kidding..they just care about the girls.
So today on April 22, 2012 I am dedicating myself to at least one blog entry a week- and totally borrowing (and by borrowing I mean stealing) Ang's idea of weekly/monthly goals. I started last week and I believe I accomplished everything..that I can remember of course.
Before I go into that here is a brief update on both Girls

Kamryn Alexandra- she never cease to amaze me with her wealth of knowledge and personality. She is currently just about riding her bike on her own!! I stood in the street and cried like a sissy lala watching her. I just cant believe that she is doing it on her own now. I cant wait for this summer to ride along the beach! She also has 2 loose teeth that she refuses to let me wiggle as she probably knows that I will just try and rip it out..come on its hanging on by a thread (or a thorn as she says). Her reading is getting more and more advanced everyday..I get such a full heart when I hear her reading to Kenz. And to see Kenz just staring at her in return. It really is a tear jerker

Kenzie Alizabeth- I really cannot believe that it has been just about 4 months since she was born. She has become quite the blabber mouth in the last couple of days. She enjoys hearing her own voice. She has 2 teeth as well that are trying ever so hard to make their way in..so we all know what that means.. anything and everything goes straight into the mouth. Which is usually moms finger..or her new butterfly hanging toy on her car seat..she seems to fancy the wings. We started her on baby food this week..she has enjoyed the apples..the peas not so much. Her face was priceless.. like really what are you feeding me. We are making so much progress on the spitting up. It is amazing when you actually read the directions (as we switched to a new one and I ASSumed that it was the same as the others) and let it sit for 5 min her spitting up is almost non-existent. Well for the last 2 days has been which is such a huge improvement from say last week.

Ok now back to the goals for this week-
1. Go thru old baby clothes for donation, keep and sell
2. Remove all the cobwebs from the house (there seems to be a huge influx of said cobwebs in the last week and they gross me out)
3. Wash and organize the "keep" clothes in their monthly piles for easy access in the future.
4. Create "Chore" chart for kam - I found a great one on Pinterest that I think that she would love. I think its about time that she get chores and maybe an allowance?? Hmm that's one to think on
5. I started this one last week- create 2 NEW dishes each week. I have really dived back in to cooking now that I am at home. I am bored (so I am sure Dustin is too) of the same dinners every week. So I have started taking inspiration and ideas to create new dishes.
6. Create 1 new item for Kissthegirls

Let's see what I can get done this week : )
